The Alzheimer Society is now utilizing MONEXgroup’s propriety Tap to Donate contactless payment processing solution.

The Grey-Bruce chapter of the Alzheimer Society of Canada recently started offering MONEXgroup’s proprietary unattended payment solution to their charity donors. The Contactless Only (tap only) solution offers donors several payment options to make their donations; including Visa, MasterCard, debit, Apple Pay, Android Pay, and Google Pay.

MONEXgroup and the Alzheimer Society kicked off their relationship with an art exhibit in Toronto, Ontario, in support of the Society’s cause. While the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce invited members of the public to visit the art exhibit for free, MONEXgroup’s unattended Tap to Donate Contactless Only solution was setup at the entrance to attract exhibitor donations. The event was a huge success!

The Alzheimer Society is the leading not-for-profit health organization working nationwide to improve the quality of life for Canadians affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Their aim is to advance the search for the cause and cure of this disease. Many people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, along with their caregivers, depend on the programs and services provided by the Alzheimer’s Societies across Canada.

Despite their important work, the Alzheimer’s Society is vastly underfunded, depending on 40% of their funding to be provided by the local community. With Canadians carrying less cash, it has become exceedingly difficult to receive charitable donations. Another obstacle is the high cost and difficulty of finding and having Alzheimer’s Society associate’s or reliable volunteers present to accept donations.

MONEXgroup’s unique Tap to Donate solution, was the perfect answer to their problems. Their proprietary technology is the only unattended Contactless Only solution in Canada. “We have been looking for a solution for a long time”, says Stephen Musehl, Executive Director of the Alzheimer Society of Grey-Bruce.

The Tap to Donate solution offers donors several modern ways to make donations, including Credit, Debit, and mobile applications, such Apple and Google Pay. It is an unattended payment processing solution, thus eliminating the need to have staff present to accept donations.

The solution makes it easier and more cost-effective for charities to collect and reconcile donations. No more counting and rolling coin, or making manual deposits. Additionally, the funds are transferred into the charities’ bank account the very next business day. Charities are also given access to a digital accounting dashboard so they can easily review their progress in a timely manner. This streamlining also reduces the risk of theft while increasing accountability since there is no physical cash exchanged. Tap to Donate also makes it faster, easier, and ultimately more convenient for those donating, improving donor experience. This encourages donors to make donations in the first place and come back to donate again.

“MONEXgroup is there to help us with our goals and our donation strategy, I am very excited to extend this partnership with MONEXgroup and the Alzheimer’s Society”, says Musehl.

MONEXgroup provides highly customizable payment processing solutions to both conventional and non-conventional merchants alike, and is proud to partner with charities and other not-for-profit organizations to help them reach their fundraising objectives.

The Tap to Donate solution is the first payment solution of its kind in Canada, and North America. It was first introduced through Sunnybrook Hospital’s Operation Raise a Flag Campaign in November 2017, to support Canada’s veterans. The campaign was highly successful, raising thousands of dollars in just one week. Since then, MONEXgroup has worked closely with several charities to help them successfully reach their fundraising goals.

“MONEXgroup is there to help us with our goals and our donation strategy, I am very excited to extend this partnership with MONEXgroup and the Alzheimer’s Society.
